Aloha, I am going to show you a few pictures of a few beautiful, and breathtaking waterfalls, beaches and views that most people only dream about seeing.
The first place I am going to show you pictures of is Rainbow Falls. Rainbow Falls got its name because at around 10am, rainbows can be seen in the mist thrown up by the waterfall. You can not swim at Rainbow Falls, for many have tried and died. There are warning signs and danger signs posted up around Rainbow Falls. Hope you all enjoy these beautiful pictures you are about to see.
Next there is Akaka Falls. Akaka Falls was named after Chief 'Akaka, who had a lovely and faithful wife. Chief Akaka made a home for them in this lush forest, but the chief had affairs with two mistresses, Maile and Lehua. When the chief's faithful wife found out, the chief fled, with his dog from his wife in shame. Hope you all enjoy these wonderful pictures you are about to see.
Next we have Waipio Valley. Waipio Valley is the largest of six valleys on the Hawai'i Islands Hamakua Coast marking the Kohala Mountains' drop into the ocean. Waipio Valley whose name means"Curving Water", was once the home of a large native community and is the birthplace of many island legends. King Kamehameha I was raised in the area, but it was virtually uninhabited since 1946, when a tsunami devastated the valley, but now in present time there are a few natives that live down in Waipio Valley, and they still continue the old hawaiian tradition ways. The natives have kept the Taro growing nice and strong. The waters that run through the valley are pure mountain cold fresh water. Hope you all enjoy the pictures you are about to see.
Next I will show you all a few beaches and some sunsets of parts of the big-island hawaii. Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is the first beach I will be showing pictures of. Punalu'u Black Sand Beach is located in between Pahala and Na'alehu. Hope you enjoy the picture you are about to see.
Now is Green Sands Beach. You can swim at this beach, but caution is advised, this is not a beach with lifeguards and you do need 4 wheel drive to get to this beach, if you do plan to walk its about 30minutes or more. Green Sands Beach is located outside the little town of Waiohinu. Hope you enjoy the pictures you are about to see of Green Sands Beach on the big-island of hawai'i.
Right on the opposite side of this beach, is a beach called South Point. South Point has breathtaking views and is also a great spot for fishing. Locals like myself jump off the cliffs of South Point. It is a rush and a great experience if you are in for a thrill and seek adventure. Hope you all enjoy the pictures you are about to see.
Now here are some pictures of Coconut Island, located in Hilo Hawai'i. You have to walk across a man made bridge to this little island called Coconut Island. It is a small island and a little beach. Yes you can swim there, and no there is no lifeguards. Hope you all enjoy the pictures you are about to see.
