I know I say don't talk about politics, religion, sports, or finances in the workplace... but this one had it coming
I mentioned in a video "those that left the left" while a title card came up stating 'like me in 2009'. A complete 180 is quite an experience, but try a 4D spiral. Now that's whack. I have probably been a part of every political ideology under the sun: progressive-left, demcocrat, republican, conservative, libertarian, minarchist, anarchist... Proud to say I've never identified as socialist or communist (outside of Civ4 because those two forms of government ensured that I/my government had more money to... you know... war and stuffz).
You can find my statements here, 03:07 into this video...
My early years were a mix of democrat and progressive ideologies because progressive sounded cool and democrats were "for the working class". What a bold-faced lie. Obama ran in 2008. Anyone that dared to speak out was jokingly deemed a racist. I knew actual racists that didn't want to vote for him because he was a "word I cannot repeat" as well as other racists that only voted for him because he was black. I was against him not because I was a republican or a racist, but simply because he was from Illinois. Perhaps the worst and most corrupt state in the Union. Where chicago rips off the rest of the state. The tax-state. Obama won, the racists were confused why nobody shot him yet, the republicans said "I'm fine with him he's not that bad we miss Bush", and the democrats were happy to get their 8 years in the cycle again.
I paid attention to Obama. He was promising to help increase federal student aid to those applying for their FAFSA and going to college. Granted, I was a few years away, but college was important to me. Then I found a news article describing how Obama was actually reducing the amount of federal aid to students. Okie doke, typical politician, right? Then other things. "I'm for traditional marriage" became "I support gay marriage" and the gay community mocked Obama for the doublespeak and that he was only pandering for votes. Then the supreme-cheese court ruled in favor for gay marriage. Then the propoganda began and the gay community literally embraced a liar that didn't care about them but their voting power.
But was that enough to turn me away? Nope. What did was the cancer-culture that we mistakenly call "cancel culture". I was Christian. Abortion is murder and gay marriage is a no-no. I was also in band with a chick I thought was cute. We had chemistry. Facebook was happening. We befriended on there. I shared a Christian article detailing how marriage was between a man and woman. This chick turned on me and went full schizo. She accused me of attacking and beating up homosexuals, hate crimes, and a whole bunch of random crap. This was 2009. I tried having a conversation with her online, she just kept on spewing random things that I'll never be capable of doing. I'm a wuss that cannot stand confrontation and hit like a girl. She made me look like hitler with a bit of Schwartzenegger.
Then I talked with others that started to polarize more. It was as if the political left was purging Christianity and Bible-Belief from its ranks. I somehow magically hated women because I proposed taking the unwanted child and giving them up for adoption to those that are barren and infertile, rather than abort it pre-term. I spontaneously hated those with sexual deviancies and murdered them because evil, invisible fairytale SkyFather told me to. It was getting ridiculous. I couldn't question the team, the narrative, or suspicious bank errors in democrats' favor. I had enough. If this was what democrats truly were, then I wanted no part of it. Yes, I did the 180 and was republican after that, but still voted down the ticket on the individual's merit vs their affiliation. I voted democrat, republican, libertarian, or green depending on their capabilities and experiences. I tried to be mature.
Then a jerk, suprisingly a democrat, told me that a vote for a third party was a vote wasted. In that election I voted all-republican just to spite them. They expected me to embrace socialism and all that crap. My faith was acceptable as long as it fit their narrative. They ensured I never vote left-leaning again. Don't assume that I vote right-wing, though. I am politically homeless, looking at my voter registration status I'm told "it's complicated" and they have no clue. The green party fell to toxic progressivism just like the democrats, and the republicans are big-brother government liars just like their cancer-culture democrat bretheren. Libertarians make great business partners, but I fear they're moreso philosophers that don't actually get things done. C-SPAN helped me realize the truth, that all three sides are hearing their own ridiculous lies and parroting them. They don't stop to consider the other side and actually debate/discuss. They just continue grandstanding on, whining about Trump or Biden and manufactured crises to distract us from the real problems in the world: them.
Yes, faithful viewer on youtube, I was an ancap, if only for a few months. However I believe in a more voluntary world where people subscribe to whatever they want to. Think of it like distro-hopping. Today I feel like gentoo, tomorrow arch. Next week, maybe outright forget Linux and do Haiku or Minoca! The left has become a crony statist cesspool much like the right. My morals and values have no place anymore in this "brave" and "new" world that wants to delegate Biblical values to something akin to what one does in the bedroom.
A presumed "Dr" Karlyn on youtube said Christianity is not political. But the truth is it is. God commanded Israel to have no King like the other people of the earth. Israel wanted one, God gave them one. The prophets promised the coming messianic kingdom. Then Yeshua comes along, continuing John and the prophets' ministry: the coming of the Kingdom of God. Thus, was I ever really a progressive, democrat, republican, anarchist, or the like? Or was I simply just a member of the messianic party all along?
Thanks for reading, and HattyHacking;
