What an Odd Ceiling Fan

Sometimes an art Project has a clear beginning and end. Other times it takes unexpected twists and turns. Be it a “Happy Mistake” or a deliberate change of direction, an art piece can end up in the weirdest of flavors. This digital piece would be one of those weird flavors.

It started with me messing with triangle shapes in a digital doodling way. Then I messed with it through a couple of art programs on the ye old laptop. I ended up with something that looked like a partial clock face. Liking that idea, I decided to shoot for a clock project. So after spending some considerable time cutting, copying, rotating, scaling, pasting, and cropping, I eyeballed a complete circle of my pizza slice like triangles.

As I was thinking about the hour, minute, and second hands design, it struck me that there was something off. While the 9 and 3 o'clock markings would work, the others where a bit off for my taste. Since it was my bedtime, I decided to sleep on the art project for a while.

As I awoke from my slumber, the ceiling fan spun over my head, giving me a nice breeze. I lazily stared at the fan for a while and my art project came to mind. Suddenly, I had a solution to my clock problem. I decide to abandon the clock idea and do a ceiling fan project. So I added a light to the middle with glowing rays effect and thought to myself, “What an Odd Ceiling Fan.”
