The Simple Hand that Ate Time

The Simple Hand that Ate Time

This art piece started off as an outline of my hand drawn in pencil. After scanning it to file, I got sidetracked with something else and forgot about it. Now and then I’d start fiddling with it on my laptop. Adding different shapes, textures, and colors. After each change I’d get into another project or activity around the house.

A good bit of time stretched on and I thought its time to write something about this piece. But what? I totally forgot the original idea I had in mind. The colors were suddenly not to my taste and looked too busy with the added abstract shapes and background.

I decided to look back on my backup copies of each change I did to this piece. Starting from the beginning, Pencil outline. Then on to the added texture and colors. I stopped at a texture and color scheme that made me think, “Why didn’t I continue on this path? Why the hard left on red into busy town?”.

So, I decided to add a soft glowing effect to it, scale it down a bit, add my signature and here we are at more pleasant destination.
