For those who read my blogs before should know I am a fan of Tabletop game & DND theme. Now I became a Moderator & Contributor of a GameFi project called DungeonSwap.
This could be a top-most precious experience in my career. I am willing to record all the changes we made in the project including the key decision making process and the rationale behind. No top secret of DungeonSwap plans to be revealed for sure, instead I'd like explain the enhancement and features from my own point of view.
Today(11/15), one key refactor regarding "Simplification" has been announced today:
There are several reasons to do this change.
- Community Opinion. Players want Relic and NFT equipments to be more valuable. Before related key features like Marketplace & Smithy to be released, there is something apart from Smart Contract writing that we can work on. For example, the fewer chances to get a Legendary Relic(5%), the higher value it is. All players who purchased Relic now can enjoy the future possible value gain.
- User Experience. We found it's a bit hard for new comers to find out how to play DungeonSwap P2E game. Even Moderation Team created P2E Wiki for it, the learning curve is still high. So we did some UX process review and proposed the simplification idea to Dev Team. This will be an iterated process and hopefully our players and new comers can enjoy more.
- Fun. In GameFi, players often want to "Play First" instead of "Learn First" and this is something we can enhance by just front-end part. By having "Summon Relic" only, we believe players can get more immersive experience without the interference on initially thinking which Relic to buy.
There were a lot of communication and effort behind the scene, especially for this kind of global team we need to sync at different timezone. It's challenging but interesting.
