Buying cloches can be very expensive but they are super easy to make them yourself.

I wanted to use a hose cut to size but I wasn't able to go to the city to buy a cheap one so for this time I bought 6 pipe insulation.

I used 6 wire clothes hangers.

You need some sort of pliers to straighten the clothes hangers, I used the one on the right, I found it much easier and quicker.

They don't need to be perfect just straight enough to be easily inserted into the insulation.

I put the straightened hangers into the insulation tubes, the wire hangers are for shaping the tubes.

The next two things we needed was bamboo canes and duct tape. We stuck the bamboo canes into the ground where we wanted the cloche hoops to be, you have to make sure it is deep enough that it will keep everything secure. I popped the hoops I made onto the bamboo canes and duct taped together. It doesn't look as good as I imagine it would if we used a hose pipe instead of the pipe insulation but it does the job great. Now all we need is the netting. This will protect our cabbages and other plants from butterflies, birds and other pests.
