Growing Our Own part 9

The peas are the most satisfying for me because every week we go up to the farm there is a noticeable difference and we'll get peas soon maybe even next week.

The onions are another one that has a noticeable growth every week but it'll be at least another month before we get any onions and I don't think I'll be pulling them out of the ground and eating them raw like the peas, I can't wait to see my sons reaction when we pull some peas off and eat them.

I don't know what we're going to do with so many onions, they have a long shelf life so it shouldn't be too bad. I think we're going to be giving away a lot of food to family and friends, I'll make veggie hampers.

The beets have grown a lot as well but they shouldn't be ready for another month or so. Beets are a superfood so I want to find a few ways of getting their goodness, I'm hoping we'll all like the beetroot crisps.

We planted courgette, the sunflowers we planted were put down too early and they just didn't grow so I tilled the soil and planted two courgette plants in their place. We're not huge courgette fans but it's nice in a stir-fry and a friend had spare so why not.
