Make up for the environment

Hello people! How are you? Hope you are doing fine and if not...take some time to relax here! Today's topic is make up: born with us humans and evolved with us across time and history (art expression, ritual simbolism, expression of oneself, etc) it's now changing for the planet. It may sound strange but even make up can pollute, after all most of it it's packaged in plastic.

That's why i present you some beuty brands that are carbon negative (mostly), so you do pretty and you do good:

  • Ethique: 120% of carbon emission offset, almost no packaging and if so it aint plastic, pretty much everything is made to waste as little as possible, they use green energy (renawable), partners with Ecologi
  • Neighbourhood Botanicals: whatever CO2 emitted is offset double, mostly vegan/vegetarian and cruelty free
  • Tropic: tha same CO2 situation as the brand before, they use some of their income to reforest the Amazonian rainforest
  • BYBI Beauty: has a carbon transparency policy and it's carbon neutral at the moment, i know i know but they said they'll be negative by 2025 so i don't think we have much to wait
  • Dame: they sell someting interesting... reusable sanytary pads! An investiment cause you buy some and they last more (very inclined to buy); working with the locals to protect trees
  • Azure: at the moment only the production is carbon negative but they are working on the rest, famous for they shapoos and conditioners kept is sugarcane bottles, natural ingredients
  • LOOPECO: carbon negative on the way, they offset their emission and plant trees in Uganda, natural ingredients
  • Fussy: while the name may evoque a child in your mind, angry at that, this brand posses B.Corp status; has many refillable products, partener with Climate Partner (carbon negative in progress)
  • Forgo: they are specialized in glass conteiner for packaging and dust products in paper, let me explain: just take a container, put the dust in, add water, mix, done! Also they became net zero this year- congratulation!
  • Bramley: CO2 neutral going slowly negative, use rainwater to make products (hope it bacterial free) , customers can offset their order by donatin a bit to Greenr
  • HIGHR: born carbon neutral going negative, use solar energy, offset its emission with Native Energy
  • Bolt Beauty: glass containers and dissolvable packaging! Ofsetting all of their emission by donation to reforestation project, aim to be in the shortest time possible carbon negative, mostly face procudts

We arrived at the end of this article... pseudo article, i don't believe my writing abilities are something to be proud of yet, gonna work more! I also wanted to add that if those brands are not for you or you'd prefer to start with baby steps then Bio make-up is what you need like the puroBio brand or agin just swaps yous usual (cotton swabs, make up remover pads, sanitary pads, plastic containers, brushes, etc)for reusable things...helps the wallet and the planet too. Leave a comment if you have a question, like and tip. Bye byeee!
