With about 3 days left until the #Algorand governance sign up period closes, here are some quick pointers on the process of signing up for liquid governance on
To start, have your $ALGO in a safe wallet, for example Pera Wallet or Defly Wallet. Then, head to app.folks.finance to enter the world of #FolksFinance. Here you can see a few things — if you’re not automatically directed to the deposit page, you can find it on the menu bar at the top of the page, assuming that you’re using the site from a computer.
On that same menu bar, you can see an option titled “Algo Liquid Gov”, hover your mouse over that options and another menu should drop down with two options: $gALGO and $xALGO. $gALGO is the native token that is exchanged in the liquid governance process when you commit $ALGO to the platform (the discussion on xALGO will be for another day).
A little lower on the page, you will see a box with “Your Wallet” on it indicating your $ALGO balance. If you don’t see the balance, try disconnecting/connecting your wallet again by clicking the “Connect Wallet” button on the top right of the page.
Once you see these items, there are three buttons under your balance: “Commit”, “Leveraged Commit”, and “Swap and Commit”. I’ve never dabbled with leveraged commit, so I can say anything about it, but to commit your ALGOs, click on the commit button to do so. If you have another asset from the ALGO environment that can be exchanged on the Folks Finance platform for ALGO, you can click swap and commit for a fast, hassle-free process of committing your ALGOs.
Shortly, you should receive your gALGOs and you are free to do whatever you want with that. Personally, I commited all my gALGOs to the Tinyman ALGO/gALGO pool and to vanilla governance for triple rewards, but you’re free to do whatever you desire.
Remember, time is running short! GLHF!
