Italia di Gattuso: due vittorie che cambiano tutto
L’Italia di Gennaro Gattuso non è più solo un cantiere aperto — è tornata a essere una squadra vera.
Due partite, due vittorie e una sensazione che si diffonde tra tifosi e addetti ai lavori: questa Nazionale ha ritrovato il cuore.
Tutto è iniziato a Tallinn, contro l’Estonia. Una notte fredda e tagliente nel Baltico, ma in panchina il fuoco di Gattuso arde forte. Fin dai primi minuti si sente la sua voce, che guida, incita, corregge. Dimarco pesca Kean in profondità — gol, uno a zero.
Poco dopo, però, Kean sente un dolore e deve uscire. Dentro il giovane Pio Esposito, emozionato ma determinato.
Poi arriva l’occasione per chiudere: Retegui si guadagna un rigore… e lo sbaglia. Ma non si arrende. Passano pochi minuti, e trova il gol del riscatto. Due a zero Italia, abbraccio collettivo e urlo liberatorio.

Tre giorni dopo, a Udine, va in scena il seguito.

Nel secondo tempo, cresce il ritmo. L’Italia gioca, pressa, domina. Retegui, ancora lui, riceve palla, si gira e piazza un sinistro all’incrocio. Due a zero.
Nel recupero, da corner di Dimarco, Mancini firma il 3-0. Vittoria netta, convincente, meritata.
Italia in festa, Gattuso sorride. I giocatori si abbracciano, il pubblico canta. Sei punti in due gare, fiducia ritrovata e la qualificazione mondiale che ora sembra più vicina.
Ma guai ad abbassare la guardia.
Con 15 punti, l’Italia è dietro la Norvegia ma ancora in corsa. Restano due partite: Moldavia fuori casa, Norvegia a Roma.
Se gli azzurri vincono entrambe e i norvegesi perdono anche solo una volta, il primo posto diventa realtà.

Il più probabile? I playoff, comunque sicuri e meritati.
