Trump’s Approval Hits Historic Low Ahead of Midterms

The approval rating has fallen to an all-time low, with Reuters reporting it at 32% and the Wall Street Journal at 37%. These are the lowest support figures for a US president. Generally, the political arena in the US is currently going through tough times, and only a few weeks remain until the midterm elections, which will take place on November 3. These low indicators are causing serious concern among Republicans. This, in turn, could potentially lead to macroeconomic changes that will affect global financial systems as well as the crypto market.

The decline in the rating is primarily linked to citizens' dissatisfaction with the high cost of living and the war with Iran.

The poll by Reuters and Ipsos indicates that among 1,277 adult Americans, only 32% approve of Trump's performance, while 66% express dissatisfaction.

The Wall Street Journal study showed that among 1,500 voters, support was recorded at 37%. This is the lowest figure for a sitting president ahead of midterm elections in WSJ polls, which have been conducted since 1990.   Trump has also suffered a loss in his rating among his own party members. The approval rate among Republicans dropped from 82% to 73% in just one week.

Furthermore, in the Reuters study, 43% of respondents expressed their readiness to support the Democratic Party, compared to only 35% backing the Republican Party.

Despite these deteriorating statistics, Trump himself publicly claims he is confident in success and is planning a large-scale campaign tour across Republican-leaning states - Texas, Florida, Alaska, and Iowa. Meanwhile, the media notes that in private conversations, Trump expresses absolute confidence in the success of the Republicans.

With the midterms approaching, evaluating the administration's actual track record is more important than ever. In one of my upcoming articles, I will be conducting a deep dive into Donald Trump’s key campaign promises, his economic results, and whether he actually delivered on what he pledged to voters and investors.
