Wizard NFT Drop: SOLD OUT in seconds
I’d highlighted the above Drop 1 and Drop 2 details in my “Time-Sensitive NFT Drop: Upland Limited Edition Wizard NFT Drop”. I’ll not repeat all the drop details again. If you’re not sure what this is about, I suggest you read that first before coming back here to read this update.
As you already know by now, there were ONLY 100 NFTs in total for this drop. Upland is a game that’s been at the top of the chart of Daily Users according to DappRadar data. You can also read my write-up on “Choosing a Blockchain Game: My Experience” in which I refer to some of these statistics.
The math is simple – thousands of daily users, with many willing to spend money on the game and ONLY 100 NFTs in that drop. Want to take a guess whether this will sell and whether this NFT will be worth something in time to come?
Well then, this may give you a clearer picture.
To accommodate players in different time zones, the drop was split into 2 waves.
The first drop was at 9:00 AM PT on 1st April.
The 50 Upland Wizard NFTs allocated for the first drop were SOLD OUT in less than 15 seconds! Leaving many disappointed for not getting one. But there’s still hope since there’s a second drop in 12 hours’ time.
So, at 9:00 PM PT on 2nd April, the remaining 50 Upland Wizard NFTs were made available. This time, all the 50 NFTs were SOLD OUT in less than 10 seconds!
It is my opinion that this will be a very sought after NFT in the Upland Metaverse for the following reasons:
- It is the coolest NFT Block Explorer to date that I’ve seen
- In both drops, all 50 NFTs were SOLD OUT in seconds
- The Wizard NFT holds a significant meaning in the Upland Metaverse as it commemorates the transformation of the Block Explorers into NFTs
The aftermath
I do not have the data on how many actually tried to get one of these NFTs. It must have been enough to cause the developer to offer a refund for those who weren’t fast enough to get one.
Why was this needed? I’d mentioned in my first article that the Upland NFT Block Explorer drop is done differently.
“The way this drop is structured is different from what most NFT collectors are accustomed to. You can’t purchase the NFT outright. Receive the NFT as a bonus when you make an in-game currency purchase of 100,000 UPX (purchased at $99.99).”
So, there may be those players who didn’t plan on putting additional money into the game but had done so hoping to get the NFT and hence the request for a refund, provided they agree to burn UPX, the purchased in-game currency.
Conclusion
The Author could spot at least 2 of these Wizards already roaming in the Upland Metaverse.
Can you spot one of the Wizard NFT in San Francisco in the image below?
Can you spot one of the Wizard NFT in New York in the image below?
If you were successful in getting one of the 100 Wizard NFTs, a hearty Congratulations to you! If not, you still have an opportunity to get other Upland related NFTs.
You can still get your hand on some cool Upland NFTs if you head on over to read my just published – “Upland Collectible Blockchain Heroes Edition NFT Drop”.
Again, this drop is done in 2 waves on the 6th and 7th. You can read the details there. Good luck!
