Tonight we will have a very special 40th Edition.....
Where I will be playing my heroes and heroins.....and will keep playing till the end of time...or at least till the end of this cold night.
Starting with an acoustic version of "The Asphalt World" & "Europe Is Our Playground" from one of Brett's Solo appearances.

But Tori´s winter can warm me up any day. The first song I ever heard from this Lady...and probably still one of the best. And the way she looks here is exactly how she looked when I saw her live...soooo many winters ago.

Mr. Billy Joel ... I must have been like 12 when I received his greatest hits album.....but it did not contain his greatest hit....for me that´s the next one.

Before Billy J. I grew up on the Bat out of Hell Album, must have played it over 1000 times and still I guess that my favorite Jim Steinman & Meatloaf song was the next one...again one that was not on my album.
5. Meat Loaf and Jim Steinman - Objects in the Rear View Mirror
I'd just like to say that Jim Steinman and Meatloaf are both incredible artists, but when they get together they are literally greater than the sum of their parts. Thank heaven I lived to experience them together.

For crying out loud, I'll miss you Jim Steinman. Go back with the angels. We will keep you alive down here on earth as your music lives on.
Omg I am such an Imbecile for forgetting about this song for so many years....but it´s in style for tonight's festivity.
7. Mike Batt & Roger Chapman - Imbecile
Well let´s pick up the pace a bit tonight like thunder and beyond the speed of sound..that was this, the first song I ever heard from the magical Ayreon. I listened to the cd single once.... bought it and played it for so many years.
8. Ayreon - Sail Away To Avalon (The Final Experiment) 1995
Were those wasted years? IDK but music has been so important in my life....my whole life till I reached 33 was built on great music... friends, festivals and DJ gigs.
9. Iron Maiden - Wasted Years
The older I got the darker my taste had become....still tonight will be mainly about the classics..... but some of those classics sound great if Now Artists pick them up and tweak them a bit.
10. Violet Orlandi ft @Melodicka Bros - In The Air Tonight
After Tonight Life will never be the same again.... When I first heard the next song I was sold.....it kicked my alternative rock/metal ass into some darker niches.
This is the end of my heavenly 40 ...not sure if I ever will do a playlist this huge.....maybe when we reach the 100st edition........
What the fluff are midnight gems?
Somewhere lost in time, trying to escape out of the rabbit hole back into the rat race there is a vacuum..... that´s the place where midnight gems are found.
My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten.
Who the fluff am I?
Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years....Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets.
