One of the creators of SegWit, Pieter Wuille, will no longer be a Bitcoin maintainer, although he will not stop collaborating on other related projects. He has made it public on Twitter and requested that they remove his keys from GitHub. His request was approved and, as is logical, he received the gratitude of the community for his work during these years.

The Bip-141 proposal, better known as SegWit, was activated in Bitcoin in August 2017. It is not the only blockchain that uses SegWit technology since others such as Litecoin have also implemented it. Wuille's first work on the Bitcoin network was Bip0032. He is also the founder of the BlockStream company, which is dedicated to Bitcoin development and is focused on building financial infrastructure for cryptocurrencies.
