What is a Bitcoin ETF?

An Exchange Trader Fund (ETF) is an investment fund that is traded on stock exchanges.
These funds hold different assets like stocks, commodities or crypocurrencies and point to track the perfomances of an asset or index.
Bitcoin ETFs are a crucial instrument for investments in cryptocurrency; allows investors to participate in the market performance without owning Bitcoin direcly.
The ETF holds Bitcoin or contract related to Bitcoin's price and it traded on traditional stock exchanges like shares of a company.
There are two types of Bitcoin ETFs: Futures and Spot.
Futures ETFs are funds that invest in futures contracts on BTC rather than the asset itself. Futures are agreements to buy or sell an asset at a specified future price.
Spot ETFs require the funds authorized to issue them to hold the actual cryptocurrency and allow investors to buy shares that represent a part of the amount of Bitcoin held by the fund.

There are conflicting opinons about Spot ETFs:
PROS are the convenience and easy purchase since you do not need to know anything about the Bitcoin to start investing in this cryptocurrency with a trend very volatile, regulation and taxation: Bitcoin ETFs must follow strict rules and are already subject to taxation. The investor does not have to worry about anything on tax return and customer support: in case of problems or doubts, contact the customer service of the platform you have chosen to receive assistance ( or rely on a serious broker, authorized and with years of experience).
CONS are that you do not own Bitcoin: ETFs on Bitcoin are for investors, not for those who want to buy Bitcoin to make payments and transactions;
You can’t buy and sell at any time: trading ETFs is only possible during market opening hours, not 24/7 as with cryptocurrencies.
