It took some news agencies just 2 days before starting to label what's going on in France as "riots". Mind you, they didn't label the murdering of security guards and police officers in Iran last year as anything other than "protests", despite the fact foreign meddling and involvement had been proven on numerous occasions.

But let's take a step back first, why is this happening in France now? Well long story short, history has proven that if there are one people in the West who do not accept your self proclaimed superiority over them and sit idly by as you steal their benefits and empty their pockets for "the greater good" aka imperialism and wars of aggression, it's the French.
You can get away with a lot of things in a lot of Western countries. Some of them are quite literally a herd of brain dead zombies who'd accept anything at this point cough E Stein PDF Files cough. But thinking you could try and impoverish a people who very well remember what they had to go though in order to get where they are today, is perhaps why you literally have schools and teachers who are openly joining in on the student protests.
But going back to the topic, language matters. And how one media tries to frame certain events on one side, and then try to pull a 180 when the events happen on the other side, should be reason for you to immediately disqualify that "media" as a reliable source.
