The unfair reality of investing

Remember how last year Binance admitted to have a whole bag of Luna tokens and that they didn't sell even amidst of the UST-Luna death spiral?

This wasn't the flex our mans CZ thought it was. You see, when you have billions and can afford to lose half a million, chances are you will either lose that half million and be like 'meh', or that it will make you another batch of billions. We've all heard the "only invest what you can afford to lose" line, but another criteria which is almost equally crucial when it comes to making significant wealth with investing is putting yourself in a position where you can afford to not sell. Yeah, weird logic but true.

Let's try and compare it to figures we can relate to. You have to either be mentally as solid as a rock and watch your 10K lifesaving go to 100K and still hodl on for something bigger. Or better yet, have several batches of 10K's so that you can afford to not care about that one. The latter is what Binance is doing but most of us are not that lucky, most of us are required to have nerves of steel when we see that horrific news headline and go check the price to see it already crashed -20% and then still dare to hodl on. It's either that or be able to predict the future and know the exact moments when to sell and when to buy and since we all know the latter is not possible, guess what that leaves us with. The result:

Also the result, but with a twist and pretty much the point I'm trying to make: Don't regret, but learn and adapt!

So how did I learn from my past? I actually have two batches of crypto, one of which I actively use (think of actually spending for items, gas fees, donations etc) and a hodl batch. Now, this hodl batch varies from time to time, sometimes it really is just sitting there, other times I chip some pieces off to do some trading. I think it would defeat the purpose of crypto if all we did with it was just hodling right? So yeah, use it, send it, introduce others to it or do whatever, no one says you shouldn't right? Just be sure to do your portfolio accounting wisely so you can one day say 'yeah I spent 270 million on Pizzas, but I had 730 million tucked away.'😉

Geo-Political & Economical developments

Things are almost never as they seem. If you sincerely think that world powers would spend their money and resources in order to just "help" citizens from foreign nations, you might want to ask yourself why they've been neglecting and out right murdering their own citizens for decades. What are their true motives for wanting to fund foreign (terror) groups, start global confrontations and wars? I'll let you in on a little secret; It has NOTHING to do with "human rights" nor "democracy".
