Wow, it actually happened. I'll be honest at first when this whole community note system came about I was mostly excited about the prospects and slightly worried about the possibilities to manipulate the system.
I have now skipped being fully worried, passed over disappointment and straight back to my initial ideals: A capitalist creating online platforms and calling it ''social'' media is like the Nazi party creating cultural sensitivity courses. You know this is anything but social, you know there will be anything but free speech and you sure as fook know only the most ignorant deadbeats will be happy about it because their tired old ''duuuuuh vote blue no matter who duuuuuuhhhh'' posts will never get censored.
So why the rant? Well, it appears the old Muskman has killed any last shred of credibility he had when he allowed auto-added community notes to appear in posts who simply added this one image regardless of the text they typed along with it.
As you could probably already predict, two can play at that game.
Damn you fascistboy Milei, your incestness was even debunked by basically every major news outlet:
I don't know who Micheal Rapaport is, but he has some explaining to do:
This goes on for quite a while, but you get the idea I think.
So after a few hours, the people behind this community note system went on to try and tackle this by editing the auto-inserted text in the community note so future notes would even talk about the picture:
Notice the old factual and trustworthy word ''allegedly'' in the community note. Yeah.....I mean, what do I even say. But you know the weirdest part of the update? When you click on the explanation/link with the words ''this post'', the original image it refers to is this:
I'm not making it up btw, here's the post of the screenshot I took with the link for you to click and see for yourself😂
Let me close this one with probably the most interesting, yet confusing, yet insane, yet genius, yet contradicting, yet affirming Bitcoin idea in 2024: President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador has suggested the setting up of a privately operated bank for exclusively addressing the financial requirements of Bitcoin investors. The aim is to make it differ from the services rendered by normal banks.
