Fernando Pérez Algaba was missing for some time and the Argentinian police announced his remains were recently found in a suitcase.
Don't pay attention to the 'millionaire' reference in the title, Algaba might have been living a luxury lifestyle which he shared with his 900k followers, but he had some serious debt and the police is considering this as possible reason for his kidnapping and eventual murder. This immediately reminds us of another recent crime involving crypto whales displaying their lives online which ended with the conclusion that sharing your life online is your right and when we are referring to this, it's 'in no way laying any blame on the victims of course, they have every right to be in the spotlight and no one other than those who plotted and carried out this heinous act are to blame for what happened. But you know the saying "speech is silver, silence is gold"? It works on numerous aspects in life, your financial status as well.'
But the number of times violent crime is involved is quickly escalating, in this same time frame Algaba was kidnapped some Canadian crypto mans named Aiden Pleterski was also taken hostage and beaten after scamming people and also flaunting his lifestyle online.
His fate was not fatal however as he made some weird apology/confession video and was released, but this begs the question: Is this a reoccurring theme among crypto millionaires? I don't think so, I think the scamming/debt and 'social media' part is what's crucial in these latest events. Imagine being owed money or getting scammed by someone for a small fortune, and then seeing that same person living it up and his know-nothing audience applauding and envying him for his wealth, which not so long ago used to be yours. Isn't this a rather crucial factor to mention in the title or at least first paragraph by the journalists who covered these topics? What these "influencers" scammed people with or why they owed money is irrelevant, it could just as well be silver bars or Fijian Dollars. Putting blame on crypto for this is like putting blame on your dog for not doing your homework.
