“Should Iceland resume accession negotiations with the European Union?” Was answered with a solid "No" by Iceland but if you're an unelected EU dictator you are probably not too worried, which is exactly why you should worry if you're an Icelander. Or Icelandian...Iceman? Whatever let's just get to the point:
Ever heard of democracy beyond a reasonable doubt? Of course not because I just made it up to best describe this situation. Iceland Already decided not to join the EU a few short years ago, citing "this is not the same European Union we once wanted to join." Now, the EU didn't change, if anything it gotten worse and worse, so why again this discussion? Why is this always an issue which they try to force through? Because you need to be steadfast, you need to continuously prove beyond any shadow of a doubt that you don't want in, or they will drag you in the same way they did Denmark.
For those not aware, the Danes had to vote a grand total of THREE TIMES before they were eventually handcuffed in the EU. The first two referendums were rejected and at the third one, which had the lowest turnout of all, they included what they called "opt outs" where Denmark would in some criteria such as replacing the Danish Crown for the Euro or their military/defense not be bound to centralized EU rules. That version of the referendum was eventually the one that passed and made Denmark an EU member. What happened after that? Oh not much, just 2 other referendums they sneaked in to vote against the very same opt-outs they once included in the only referendum which passed. Are you still following what happened?😂
The Danes voted against the 2000 Euro referendum, but in 2022 voted in favor of the defense referendum, eliminating one of their three opt-outs. Silly Danes, how could you forget to prove yourselves beyond all doubt? Now look at you, since 2022 you were per capita literally the highest contributing EU member to Ukraine, and now that you've nearly depleted your missile stock they upped the price and are coming to take Greenland away.😂
And what about the Greek. Did they not vote against EU austerity bailout conditions? And what happened? They quite literally got harsher conditions than the ones they voted against. Ahh yes democracy, the self-humiliating farce we have which the poor dumb Romans didn't. How free and smart we are.👏
But going back to Iceland, you can bet your last Sat that this is not the end of it. Something similar will come for Iceland as well. You think they bribe, spy on and extort foreign politicians for fun? No, sooner or later, some scummy lying politicians will pretend to destroy his country's independence for the good of the country and people. And what about the English? Did they not vote to leave the EU? So what in the actual flick is this? "PM secures new agreement with EU to benefit British people....UK secures new agreement with the European Union to support British businesses, back British jobs, and put more money in people’s pockets."
Holy Flaking Shitake this is eerie, I swear I did not find nor read this link first and then write the comment from before about how they will destroy their country's independence and claim they are doing so "for the good of the people." I promise you I did not, they are so textbook 1984 man, they are so transparently pathetic, they are so predictable we can quite literally read them like a comic book. Like the clowns they are.
