Fook the Police

Alright, story time. Non-crypto related as you can tell from the title but I feel I have to rant about this cause if I don't I might do something violent to those ''protecting and serving'' us so on that note, let the healing begin:

It all started two months ago, I was sitting in my car at a roundabout waiting for the traffic ahead of me start moving till some nutjob crashed into me from the rear. It wasn't a fatal 100 km an hour crash or anything like that, but because I already came to a complete stop 15 seconds before the crash and already checked the rear view mirror and was focusing on the traffic ahead of me, the impact hit me rather hard. The car itself jumped half a meter as a result of the impact and got some minor damages, nothing that would make anyone go broke over even if they didn't have any insurance. I quickly told him that since everyone is OK and there is no heavy damage we should move to the side to exchange our information so others could safely pass us by without causing wrong way driving.

Enter the scumsuckery: The subhuman filth that crashed into me, an elderly man in his 50s, took off after the accident. For a moment I was in shock because there I was considering the traffic behind us as we learned to do early on at driver's ed and are even instructed to do on may European motor vehicle report forms, and this piece of 💩 took off.

OK, we are dealing with a scumbag. Quickly capture the license plate, call the police and start looking for witnesses. Upon calling the emergency police number I was instructed to leave the scene as they had sent out a unit looking for him, this instruction would later on be known as failure 1. I would be contacted if there was any development in the case. "OK so should I stop by the nearest police station to file a report, because judging from those few seconds we interacted the guy didn't look all that sober in my opinion, why else would he escape from a scene with minor damages?" 🤡👮"No need, let's just wait for the police findings in the next 48 hours" I was told. So just a three minute conversation with the emergency services and we have failure 2.

About 24 hours later the police called me. They, THEY mind you had found him and contacted him only by phone. Legally speaking it's a serious offense if you leave the scene of an accident and don't turn yourself in at the police station within a certain time frame because as said before, what if the guy was drunk? He literally would get away with drunk driving and crashing into someone. Any sobriety tests done over the phone? Of course not, you HAVE to physically see the person. Failure 3 is registered IMO. But anyway, the police said he was an older man, very afraid and shocked the police called him and was willing to cooperate and fill out any insurance/accident forms I might need, so they gave me his name and mobile phone number. Great, maybe just a misunderstanding, case soon to be closed I thought. Spoiler: It actually was case closed, case entirely closed as a matter of fact, but only for the police because they would from this point on refuse any help nor would they be of any use whatsoever.

I called the number I think 8 times in total on different days and hours of the day, not one time did anyone ever answer or call back. OK, initial assessment correct, we are dealing with a lowlife scumbag and have to take action. With just a name and license plate number I could not fill out anything, so I contacted an intermediary who could go after this scumbag for me and make him pay. You won't get away that easily old dirtbag!

So four weeks later and his insurance is refusing to handle the claim: "our client says he has never been in such accident." OK, this is next level scumfookery, back to the police and report to them he is changing his story and have them testify on my behalf to his insurance that the incident indeed did take place. 🤡👮"Oh, we don't do that."

"What do you mean? Don't do what? You have everything written up in the report, he admitted it to you and is now denying it to his insurance."

🤡👮‍♀️ "Yeah that report is for our internal use only, we can't share that with the insurance, it is now a civil dispute, good luck."

For a moment I thought I was in some elaborate prank or game show, how could the police be that useless? I mean, could it be that all those songs about them are correct?

No no no, this can't be. Probably just some newbie intern or something put on phone duty, this has to be some kind of mistake, time to call back another day: 🤡👮‍♀️"Oh so you didn't wait for the police to file a report on the spot? Yeah, that's why we can't share our report with the insurance, and since we already provided you with a name and number you can also not file a police report for the hit and run, he is technically not on the run anymore."

Uhhhh, no I was told by your colleague to not stay hanging around on the side of the road, so I left. Should I have ignored that and kept waiting there hoping a police car would happen to drive by? Also, when was the last time you updated this procedure you have? We are no longer living in the 1980s where people have one landline which can be traced to their homes and practically never changes. Nowadays we have such a thing as a burner phone, sim card, heck even genders can be changed easier today than phone numbers used to in the past. So what value did you provide exactly? You're not even willing to testify that he in fact did admit it to you.

🤡👮 We did our work, the rest is up to the insurance companies to fight over. We advice you to find some witnesses that may have seen the incident to make your case stronger.

Ohh, you mean you advice me to go looking for people to do exactly that which you are refusing? Great police work!

That was pretty much the end of the interaction. I said some other things about how ignorant this procedure is as it basically enables  anyone to crash into someone and take off, go report themselves to the police after first quickly buying a burner sim card, play them as the f****ng fools they are and pretend they are willing to cooperate, then throw the number away and basically get away with a hit and run without having to pay any damages or even get hassled by the victim with a gazillion calls. It works differently of course in each country but man, this is one dumb inbred level loophole the police left open here.

I can't get over the irony from that moron in the final conversation, actually daring to tell me to go look for witnesses. I found some btw, some decent people willing to testify and help out but if they were anything like these police, then they would say "oh, I was just standing here selling sandwiches, it is a police matter in my book, go look for them."

Things are almost never as they seem. If you sincerely think that world powers would spend their money and resources in order to just "help" citizens from foreign nations, you might want to ask yourself why they've been neglecting and out right murdering their own citizens for decades. What are their true motives for wanting to fund foreign (terror) groups, start global confrontations and wars? I'll let you in on a little secret; It has NOTHING to do with "human rights" nor "democracy".
