Some of the most popular torrent sites are now completely blocked to citizens of several European countries. A few countries in Europe started doing this years ago, primarily with the PirateBay but the ban has now spread through numerous other sites and across numerous other countries as well. Just two weeks after Brussels implemented an unprecedented ban on media which they labeled "disinfo", EU nations have now started banning sites such as EZTV, Kickasstorrents, 1337x, RARBG etc.
I'm going to put myself out there and make a rather bold prediction: This will eventually lead to the EU banning or at the very least severely restricting crypto. There, I said it out loud. You can not sincerely sit and watch Brussels ban media the don't like in all member nations without consulting any of them, ban sites they don't like because they linked pirated material (yes there is indeed a problem with illegal downloads, but banning these sites altogether is like banning all kitchen knifes because there is a danger with sharp objects) and think it's going to end there. Just take a step back and look at the whole picture, they are attacking internet freedom, what on earth makes you think internet currency will be left alone? Especially the anonymous kind like XMR, ONION, TOR or ZCAHS, and as things stand now they are even considering the same faith for UNI, MKR and COMP.
I didn't just randomly select names out of a hat, the privacy coins in question are those that France has been targeting for several years now. In order to understand why this was the prelude to all this, lies in the foundation of the EU. At it's core, it's mostly France, Germany and the Netherlands. Yes yes I know, all blabla equal members bla with blabla voting rights bla. But if it were a Greece or Poland that was so adamant about banning or tracking these cryptos, Brussels couldn't care less and I sincerely doubt if it would even be news outside their own country. As a matter of fact, these countries have a laundry list of demands and proposals that the EU not only ignores, but actually sanctions them for in order to make them follow one and the same rules dictated from Brussels. Why, because (and I don't mean any disrespect to the countries in question) beggars can't be choosers. The very fact that these attacks against the internet are coming from Germany, Netherlands and France is why they will be implemented on an EU level, period. It's the will of he who pays the bill or something like that 🤐🤲 💶 👈🤫. Let's examine if this narrative holds water. Germany banned RT news in the first week of February 2022, one month later all member states of the EU had to. Denmark and the Netherlands were among the first to attack specific torrent sites and try to get them banned nation-wide, now it's going more and more widespread across the EU. France has been advocating for a ban on privacy coins and the Netherlands took it even further and started tracking and storing wallets and transactions details, then came the MiCA proposal to target DeFi and stablecoins along with the TFR passage to limit private "unhosted" wallets and obligation to report all transactions above 1000 Euro. All these are signs of dark times ahead for citizens trapped in the EU.
Again, I'd like to stress that you need to understand the fundamentals of the EU in order to understand where this is coming from and who is responsible for this authoritarianism that's about to be enforced on all EU member states and consequent obligation to 450 million people. How does this fit into the "bill paying" narrative? Well, behold:
