For what? How is it any of their business? Just why? Well let's investigate:
This sentence right here is why things are actually different now. I know we had Bitcoin "civil wars" or whatever in the past, but this never happened in times where so many eyes, so may different interests and yes, so many external saboteurs were at play. So....who on earth thought it'd be a good idea to draw even more attention to the matter?
Ordinals, a popular NFT project, has been submitted to the NIST National Vulnerability Database as CVE-2023-50428. In an unexpected twist, the project’s creators have turned to the US federal government to help censor Ordinals transactions. The situation is gaining attention for its irony and unusual nature. Yeah, no 💩 this is backwards and unusual. "The move comes as the laser-eyed community seeks assistance from the US federal government to combat censorship attempts on Ordinals transactions...As part of the cryptocurrency’s community, many enthusiasts have adopted the trend of adding laser eyes to their profile pictures as a symbol of support and unity. This laser-eyed movement has become a powerful force within the crypto space, advocating for the decentralization and democratization of finance."
Not exactly the best explanation of an Ordi and I'm quite sure they are not seeking government help to "combat Ordinals censorship attempts" but to combat Ordinals themselves, but the point is this here: The laser people. Yeah, those same types who've been advocating for "decentralization and democratization" are the ones actually behind this. Flunking wild man.🤯
Whoever is behind this is so dumb they actually don't seem to realize how badly this will backfire. And I don't mean just externally from submitting this to NIST, but from within the Bitcoin community itself and even among their own supporters. This is so dumb it could quite literally even be a saboteur itself at play here, filing this with the sole intent to antagonize people against Bitcoin's community and try and make Ordis look like the noble resisting force for good.
As you can tell there's no way this is good for Bitcoin. This is quite literally bad for Bitcoin in every possible way. You've not only lost the plot, you lost all sense and logic regarding Bitcoin with this latest move. I understand the dilemmas BRC20s pose yet I'm not advocating for censoring them, I mean, I never really did, but am beginning to think allowing them to get away with it for this long allowed it to snowball into where we are now, which may very well be at the forenight of another Bitcoin war/fork.
BRC20 were mostly useless. Laser eyes were cringe anyway. Choose your side.
