Crypto Hoarding/ Betting

By gduran | gduran | 23 Jun 2019

I have this strange quirk, I always try to see how I can lose what I earn, I will try anything and somehow always end up losing what I had. It can be gambling, betting or any other dumb way but if I can do it you can bet I will. Now I know many people have lost lots of money in crypto and many have also made money with this. Fortunately I haven't lost any fiat money which I have earned on crypto mainly because years ago I decided I was never ever again going to use a credit card, and I have found no way to invest my money in crypto, not that I have searched too much for this.

But anyway, I heard about Bitcoin I guess around 2012, it was at about $800.00 then and it went all the way down to $200.00, naturally I thought it was a fad so I didn't pay it much attention. But then I found these faucets all around where you played games or solved something and you got a couple thousand Satoshis, well that was for me so I started playing with these faucets and was able to accumulate about 0.02 Satoshis, which really wasn't bad, right now that would be about $200.00, I was even hoarding them in a wallet I set up with Blockchain.info.

Well I was, like always thinking about how I was going to keep on clicking on these faucets until I got to 1 BTC, I wasn't really sure it was worth the time as I didn't have an idea of BTC's future. But then I came upon a site that was called Freebitco.in which was basically another faucet, but it also had a betting game, low - high. I started betting whatever I got from the faucet and never won, so I started looking at videos of people who purportedly had won a lot with this game, it ended up with the premise that to make satoshis I had to have satoshis, so I took out all I had in Blockchain and sent it to Freebitco.in, and I started playing. Yes, the videos were right in a few minutes using the auto option I was up to about 0.04, and then inevitably I lost it all in a couple of big wagers.

Did I learn my lesson? Of course not, somehow I was able to get about 0.015 Satoshis from some job I did and I had them all hoarded when I found a site that was using Burst coin, I saw a video that guaranteed winning, so of course I sent my satoshis via an exchange to Burst Nation I think it was called and started playing the game. This time I wasn't even given any rope I lost it all in less than a minute.

So are you addicted to this behavior? I sure am, I've lost a lot of Steem also in games.
