The GCR Foundation wishes to inform all and sundry both users and non-users of the present situation with the GCR coin. The GCR Coin Foundation has been monitoring an attack on our (GCR) Blockchain. Unfortunately, as the original developers abandoned the GCR Coin and its community back in late 2015, we are not in a position to be able to create any security patches or update the GCR Blockchain to protect the GCR coin holders.
This unfortunate situation has led us to engage our partners PRIMEREUM.COM and CRYPTROX.COM to assist with an alternative solution to this issue. This actually makes the coin vulnerable, as the hackers are gradually introducing more nodes to the GCR Chain in the attempt to reach 51%. This is known as a 51% hostile attack or hostile take over. The result is that they may soon take over the GCR Blockchain.
All the community can do is watch as they build on their nodes.
With the assistance of Primereium and Cryptrox, GCR coin holders can now move to a safe haven.
The GCR Coin Foundation have created a GCR Token (ERC20) which you can swap at a ration of 1 GCR Coin to 1 GCR token.
The hackers have no access to the GCR Token.
GCR Coins can be swapped for the new safe GCR token by visiting Primereium.io and Cryptrox.com, registering an account. You must have your account verified before depositing your GCR coins. You can then receive GCR tokens.
We invite all the GCR coin community to SWAP their GCR coins on PRIMEREUM.IO or CRYPTROX.com for the GCR TOKEN.
HERE'S HOW TO EXCHANGE OUR GCR COINS TO GCR TOKEN.
On Primereum: 1 GCR Coin = 1 GCR Token
(GCR tokens are issued automatically when you deposit your GCR Coins).
On Cryptrox: 1 GCR Coin = 1 GCR token
(When you deposit your GCR Coins into Cryptrox Exchange you manually transfer them to GCRtokenswap.
You will then be issued GCR tokens within 24 hours of your transfer).
We have allowed this process to run from the 11th of Feb - the 12th of March 2020.
Our Partners have informed us that if at any time, the Nodes go beyond 25% they are likely to close the swap process as it posses a threat to all of the community who now own the new GCR tokens. A 51% attack can result in this hacking organization creating unlimited GCR Coins, which cannot be distinguished from the real GCR coins. In this situation, our partners will not allow any of those GCR coins to enter into their wallets on their platform or exchange and so they will switch off the swap facilities without hesitation.
We have currently informed all exchanges and wallet service providers about the security situation of the GCR COIN.
It is up to those exchanges and wallet providers how they treat this situation and is not the responsibility of the GCR Coin Foundation for any losses incurred if you have GCR Coin on an exchange or in a wallet and don't choose to swap to the new GCR token.
