Growing Oregano

Growing Oregano

By Lameshark | Garden | 17 May 2023

I found some Oregano growing in a random field on the way to the beach and dug it up. When I placed the Oregano into the manure/soil mix outside of my garden; the Oregano really started growing! The Oregano actually grows fairly well as a random weed, but it really thrives with proper watering, better soil etc. Oregano also does well as a potted plant: I placed some of the cuttings into some random pots.

As if that wasn't enough Oregano, I actually found some growing near my garden after this! The more the merrier I always say ... I quickly threw some rocks around the Oregano patch and threw down some compost/manure. Where is all the volunteer Oregano coming from?! I'm actually not quite sure. Possibly someone's garden. I've seen old burn areas around here where there will be a burned down property and then by the river there will be TONS of Lemon Balm etc. I'm very happy to have all this oregano; I will probably make spaghetti sauce with most of the herb and then dry the rest. 0ddb370b0c6e17b3ffe8e05d2fff3cc7296fb239cd6d14aa5d32e37c858d685b.png
