Some Upcoming Movies based on Video Games!

By Slank | Gaming!! | 22 Feb 2021

I know video game movies don't have the greatest track record, but there have been some good ones. Either way here are a few coming out in the next year and beyond.

1) Mortal Kombat

This movie will release on HBO Max and in theatres on April 6th 2021. The original movies definitely didn't age well, but the Youtube series was really good. So, I'll be checking this one out.

2) Uncharted Movie

This movie has a great cast, so I have high hopes for it. It continues to get pushed, because of covid, but it's slated for a Feb 2022 release.

3) Minecraft the Movie

Not much is known about this movie, but it still scheduled to release in early 2022. The game is still wildly popular, so if they do the movie right, I'm sure kids will love it.

4) Sonic 2

I loved the 1st Sonic movie, I thought it was well done. I thought Jim Carey was probably the best choice they could have made for Dr. Robotnik. This movie is set to release on April 8th, 2022.

5) Borderlands

This is probably the movie I'm most excited about. Jack Black as Claptrap, Kevin Hart as Roland, Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis, the list goes on and on with the casting. It wouldn't surprise me if the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) gets a role in this movie.

6) Tomb Raider 2

I enjoyed the 1st movie in the new Tomb Raider movies. There were definitely things I didn't care for, but it was at least an enjoyable movie. I'm glad it's getting a sequel.

Which movie are you excited about?
