As of today, I'm going to start holding a football quiz in which you have to guess the player based on his transfer history. This will be held daily at 9 CET on LeoFinance Threads. To take part all you need to do is go to Leo Finance Threads and search for the tag #footballquiz.
The rules are very simple:
- Each morning I post a picture with 3-5 club logos in the order the player has transferred during his career. Based on only that information, your job is to guess which player is in question.
- The first correct answer earns 3 points for the user(two for the second and 1 for the third).
- Points are added to the ranking score which will be updated daily with every post.
- Season last until Xmas and 3 to 5 top-ranked players will share the $LEO prize pool.
- The LEO added to the pool comes with the upvotes of the daily quiz post and is half the final LEO paid. For example, if a post generates 8 LEO, half of that goes to curators(including you!) so the LEO added to the pool would be 2 LEO in this case.
- The current prize pool after a single post is 6 LEO (we got a donation of 5 LEO!).
- If the question is too hard and doesn't get any answers, I'll be dropping hints throughout the day.
- Note that if don't want to miss the daily quiz, let me know if I can tag you on the leaderboard!
Feedback Needed!
Since this is a new idea I would need some help to develop the idea in the right direction.
- I'd like to get feedback on the ranking points system in which the first correct answer gets 3, the second 2, and the third 1. On the other hand, it rewards engagement but obviously, the right answer can be copied even though a user has no idea who is in question.
- What is your take on the reward distribution? Between the top 3? Or the top 5? For example, if the total amount would be 200 LEO, should it be 100 for the first, 75 for the second and 25 for the third?
All other feedback is also more than welcome! If you have an idea for a different kind of format, for example, we could try that.
Good For The Leo Community
Below I have listed some pros I think will help the LeoVerse and make the community a more vibrant place with this small contribution of mine:
- Generates Leo ad revenue. Each question & answer post is a #threadstorm with additional info, rules and of course, right and wrong answers. To take part and check the rankings, users need to click the original post open, this will then create views and eventually ad revenue.
- Could possibly attract new users outside Leo & Hive. I will be sharing the questions with other platforms as well(Twitter, Torum, etc.) and as the threshold to take part in the quiz is so low, this could probably make people come back the next day and hopefully become permanent, active users of Threads.
- It's fun and casual, and doesn't bind the user to anything, all it takes is to write a name.
- I've meant to create something on Hive for a long time and what makes me really happy is to able to do it on my favourite Hive front-end - LeoFinance.
- Even though I'm not yet fully understanding SEO, I think by using keywords such as 'football quiz' and the name of the famous player, we could rank up pretty well.
Future Plans
Gamification is something that really engages users - at least it does it for me. It's motivating and fun to follow your progress on leaderboards and in addition to posting and commenting, it offers a fun side activity. Leo Threads is a great place to do that. The team is doing their part with updates but we users can also utilize Threads with all sorts of gamification ideas.
If this really picks up, I could extend the idea to other sports as well! There could be one for NBA, NHL, NFL, and baseball for example. Also, I could even create a community around all this. One thing is for sure though, all this will be happening Leo Finance and the action can be found on Threads.
Therefore I challenge all the other users to take full advantage of the platform, come up with interesting ideas, and put them to use. These will help the platform grow, attract new users and generally, make it an even more fun and engaging place to hang around.
