"I WANT TO DISCOVER THE BATTLE ROYALE": PUBG MOBILE
The genre of battle royale as defined by PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds and adopted by all now is quite simple in itself. You are part of a company of 100 players dropped without any equipment on a specific island.
As in the Hunger Games novels / movies, a fog of war periodically tightens over this one to force shrinkage of the map. In the meantime, it's up to you to explore the surroundings to find what to arm, protect and heal yourself. You can just as easily play solo or compose a team of 2 or 4 players.
Your goal? Simply being the last to survive. PUBG Mobile and Fortnite share this principle, except that PUBG Mobile will be much easier to understand and learn quickly than the second. Also, if you have to choose a game to discover the genre itself, it would be better to look directly at it, which is available for free on the Play Store and the App Store.
"I LOVE REALISM": PUBG MOBILE
PUBG Mobile and Fortnite also differ in their graphic style. PUBG Mobile is very earthy, realistic, as is its legacy from the ARMA II simulation. Fortnite is much cartoonier.
If you prefer realistic universes, it is better to rely on PUBG Mobile. What's more, one of the big differences between this one and Fortnite is in the panoply of movements offered to the characters.
The principle of PUBG Mobile is that you can crouch or even lie down to remain discreet, in order to surprise your opponents and do a bit of infiltration. This is not the case in Fortnite which forces you to stand constantly.
"I WANT TO CONTROL VEHICLES": PUBG MOBILE
Another difference between Fortnite and PUBG Mobile is the presence of vehicles. On the map of Playerunknown's Battlegrounds Mobile, you will often find cars or motorcycles that allow you to escape the deadly fog quickly.
This is not the case on Fortnite whose characters also move faster as a result. However, that difference may not be destined to last: Epic Games is considering including some means of locomotion in a future update.
While this difference still exists, it is possible for you to travel with your group by vehicle on PUBG Mobile. If you are the type to be the leader of the team when others take care of the harvest of souls, you will surely prefer this one.
"I WANT A FUN ATMOSPHERE": FORTNITE
Do the earthy and grayish atmospheres make you yawn? Would you rather prefer a relaxed atmosphere where humor has its place? Then Fortnite Battle Royale will suit you much more.
The game isn’t serious, and it shows emotes which are fun; the universe is very colorful and fun, and its characters are much more charismatic in the process.
"I LOVE BUILDING GAMES": FORTNITE
We've talked about what Fortnite is lacking before, but that lack is offset by a mechanic all its own: construction. In Fortnite, you can collect materials to create barriers, stairs and lots of small constructions like that to facilitate your progress in the world.
If you already know a little Minecraft, you will not be disoriented since it is more or less the same principle in very light version of course: the main idea remains to compete to remain the only survivor of the map!
At high level, this ability to build buildings quickly adds a layer of well-crafted strategy. Many players use it as much to protect themselves as to surprise the opponent by air, adding to the fun side of the experience.
