Bombast-trailer for Train to Busan 2: "Peninsula" released

Corona (Covid-19) rages and what could be better than the reveal of the sequel to a zombie classic. More precisely that of Train to Busan with the sleek name "Train to Busan 2: Peninsula".

Rain of money: Compared to Train to Busan 2: Peninsula, director and writer Yeon Sang-Ho says the first part is supposed to look like a cheap independent film. We already suspected this a few years ago, when Sang-Ho talked about the increased budget.

It increased from 8 million to 16 million dollars. The trailer also shows this, as there were no cutbacks concerning the sets and the set, special effects or pyrotechnics.

This is what happens in Train to Busan 2: Peninsula

The story of the sequel begins about four years after the end of part one. However, you will not rediscover well-known characters. Although the films share the same universe, Peninsula tells an independent story with new casts and characters.

Only the main character is known so far. Jung-seok, returns to the korean peninsula - hence the name - as he has to do an important job. An important object has to be rescued from the heart of the zone. What the MacGuffin is about, however, remains unknown for the time being.

Surprise, we are alive! Shooting zombies, that's what Jung-seok and his special unit are up to. But much more exciting are the survivors that are found in the zone. Some of them have lost their minds or are settling down to a new society. What you might see in the trailer reminds you of the crazy people from Mad Max.

Origin: Similar to The Walking Dead, the author of the movie Yeon Sang-Ho doesn't reveal where the virus comes from - if it is one at all. But he also revealed that he doesn't follow any special doctrine. The reason is simply that in Train to Busan 2: Peninsula it wouldn't have made sense to include this narrative strand.

It's simply not in the interest of the protagonists. They've had more than enough time to question that over the last four years. What is in focus is the mission including the mysterious object.

Release of the film: By the way, there is no release date for the film yet. Also the question whether the film will even end up in the cinemas in this country remains unanswered so far.
