Conflict of interest issues are troubling two celebratory Ethereum developers who were receiving compensation from EigenLayer.
Ethereum Foundation researchers Dankrad Feist and Justin Drake have resigned from their advisory roles at EigenLayer. This decision follows the scandal that has affected both developers. While being developers at Ethereum, they were getting paid by EigenLayer. According to them, the main objective was to guarantee and help the project integrate into the Ethereum ecosystem. Both developers resigned from their EigenLayer position to end the ambiguity.
EigenLayer is a project used as a platform for Crypto applications to «borrow» the security of Ethereum through a new concept called «resttaking». Since its creation in June 2023, the EigenLayer project has established itself as the leader of restaking. This protocol quickly captured the ETH of the fans of returns by stacking. This to the point of reaching a total blocked value (TBV) of $20 billion after one year of existence.
