Humanity has experienced several major industrial revolutions in its history. Is a new one underway? It is quite possible. We will how this next revolution could unfold and the role that cryptocurrencies could play in this revolution.

An industrial revolution is usually stimulated by several factors:

One or more major technological advances.
A vehicle for the transmission or sharing of knowledge and technological advances.
A source of funding for the implementation of these technologies.
Sufficient power to power these new technologies.
A challenge for humanity.

For example the telegram or internet played a major role in terms of transmission and communication in past industrial revolutions. The train and then the car also played an important role in this direction.

The stock market, then the more modern financial markets, played an important role in financing the companies that participated in the last industrial revolutions.

Coal and oil and nuclear technology have provided enough energy to put these industries in place.

All these advances have enabled humanity to acquire a standard of living unmatched in its history. His comfort, his wealth has never been so great.

Yet humanity is now experiencing a serious global environmental crisis. To maintain its standard of living and overcome these problems, humanity will have to innovate. New industrial fields are also opening up.

What are the elements that could trigger a new industrial revolution?

The need and the desire… Not very precise! As for the need, I would mainly talk about the environmental need. For the sake of envy, I would talk more about the emergence of new industrial sectors.

So what technologies?

• Technologies in the space sector. Long reserved for States. The universe being infinite, the opportunities for business development are also infinite.
• New transport technologies such as the Hyperloop could drastically shorten travel times. In terms of personal transport, autonomous vehicles will also shake up our vision of transport.
• As far as energy is concerned, solar panels, wind turbines and some hydroelectric technologies can produce energy without emitting Co2. But other technologies such as fusion nuclear power will make it possible to produce very large quantities without emitting Co2 and nuclear waste.
• In terms of data transmission, technologies like the blockchain will allow several major advances. In sometimes unsuspected areas. They will allow many advances in finance, health, security, validation of complex processes, intelligent automation, etc.

If we add to all this the appearance of quantum computers, the development of artificial intelligence, we have a cocktail that can be called: the new industrial revolution. However, not all these technologies are yet ready to be commercialized on a large scale.

Cryptocurrencies will simply play their role as financial leverage for some of these industries. They are not yet mature. But applications related to cryptocurrencies are exploding. That is the case for all the technologies I mentioned.

I could detail every point I quoted, but it would require writing a book and not an article. But what is certain is that the world we will know in 2050 will be very different from today’s world. The world in 2050 will also be very different from that of 2070.

Cryptocurrencies are increasingly recognized by governments and the number of users using cryptocurrencies is growing steadily. The general public is gradually adopting these financial currencies. Since most of them have an overall upward trend, the first to possess them will become the people with the most monetary power in the future.

Of course, we must be careful because not all cryptocurrencies will survive! But admiring a promising technology without ever adopting it is a shame, isn’t it?

What drives a lot of people not to invest in cryptocurrencies is usually the fear of losing everything. So to help you see more clearly, I will give you some tips to help you take your first steps in this promising world.

My first advice is: find out! If you understand the different cryptocurrencies, you will quickly power which have a real potential. Here are some things you need to look at to find out if a digital currency to last in time:

• It meets a real need.
• It provides the means to meet this need.
• It can evolve. In this way it will be able to mutate to better meet different needs or simply adapt to a world that is constantly changing.
• The team or community that supports currency development is serious and involved.
