On the occasion of his autobiography entitled “Source Code”, Bill Gates conducted an interview with the New York Times. In this interview, he attacked the defenders of Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general. Speaking about cryptocurrencies, he said “Even people with high IQs have been wrong on this.” He also said that it was just speculation and illegal activities.

This is not the first time that the creator of Microsoft has positioned himself against cryptocurrencies. Indeed, for many years, he has regularly criticized Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. In his interview, he also criticized the resources and budget deployed on AI developments.
