The long-awaited Dark Mode should be available for Facebook this spring. However, if you are a handful of users who have chosen this popular social network, you can now enjoy the news.
The new design, which includes the aforementioned dark mode, should have been available to users since April 2019, but it did not work out. At the moment, however, there should be real changes to user accounts. Facebook is one of the last large platforms that decided to do this (it is already possible to switch to Dark Mod, for example, Twitter, Gmail or Slack). Dark mode, for example, is also a common part of all smartphones and tablets with the latest Android 9.
And what does Dark Mode bring? In addition to the indisputable aesthetic point of view, it is especially significant energy savings. Most mobile phones are manufactured with OLED displays, with black pixels disabled for this type of display. Black is therefore even blacker, and it also saves energy significantly. In addition to this factor, it is necessary to mention the positive impacts on human health. The eye is much less stressed when looking at the black (largely blank screen) than when looking at the white glowing display.
The new Facebook design should also be significantly simpler and clearer. According to official reports, however, its appearance will differ significantly from the current. It should not be alien to the user, however, as it mimics the design of the Facebook mobile app.
According to CNET, the new look should be available to all users this spring. However, if someone does not like Dark Mode, Facebook will of course be able to switch to standard mode. As part of the forthcoming changes, a form is also being prepared for users to send feedback or bug information to developers.
