Ghana vs Nigeria Jollof War Settled From Iran — I Put It On-Chain
Everyone knows the real World Cup in Africa is not football. It is Jollof Rice. Ghana vs Nigeria. This debate never ends.
I am currently in Iran, so I decided to do something different. I explained both versions to people here who have never tasted Jollof before and asked them to judge. No bias. No tribalism.
And to make it fair, I put the final vote on a blockchain poll so nobody can say it was rigged.
THE CONTENDERS
Nigerian Jollof: Smoky party Jollof. Deep red, cooked with tomato-pepper base, that famous smoky aroma from cooking over high heat. Usually served with fried plantain, chicken, and salad.
Ghanaian Jollof: More aromatic and spiced. Usually made with jasmine or basmati rice, fragrant with garlic, ginger, and local spices. Less smoky, more flavor layering.
THE IRAN TEST
Iranians love rice culture. They have Chelow, Tahdig, and Adas Polo. So they understand good rice.
I showed photos and ingredients to 5 locals in Tehran:
3 of them picked Nigerian Jollof. They said the smoky story reminds them of Tahdig — the crispy, smoky bottom rice that everyone fights for.
2 picked Ghanaian Jollof. They said the aromatic spices feel closer to Persian spiced rice.
THE ON-CHAIN VERDICT
I created a simple blockchain poll for transparency.
After 50+ votes:
Nigeria - 58%
Ghana - 42%
Result is recorded. No cheating. No admin can change it.
CONCLUSION
At the end of the day, Jollof is Jollof. Whether you are in Kano, Accra, or Tehran, good food brings people together.
But for today, judged from Iran and secured on-chain, Nigerian Jollof takes the crown by a small margin.
What do you think? Ghana or Nigeria? Let me know in the comments and I will add your vote on-chain.
