Regret

By emily2u | From the Heart | 8 Feb 2021

In my younger days,
Thought I knew everything.
Now I know it isn’t the case,
As I’ve not achieved a thing.

If I’d heeded parents’ advice,
And not be as strong willed,
Life would’ve been nice,
Instead of trouble-filled.

I’ve spent nights crying,
Things are too coarse,
The tears are finally drying,
I’ve decided to change course.

Wish my folks could forget,
Allow me home again.
I already live in regret,
And every moment in pain.
