In the middle of the night
Silence far in the darkness,
Deeply black behind my lids
Piercing into my mind's eye.
The cricket sound outside
Rat scurrying about, perhaps,
Palm civet running overhead
Lucky Dog on patrol duty.
Yet another eventful day
Chasing her round n' round,
With a rat in her mouth
And chomping it down.
Hope no more events
Or adventures like this,
So I have a peaceful night
At least just for this once.
