The dark sky lights up
As fireworks are set off;
It's the Festival of Lights
Light triumphs over darkness.
It's a warzone out there
With bing bing bang bang;
It's not crackling sounds
But more like gunshots.
Noises to scare away evil
Making babies cry;
Dogs under the bed
And even wake the dead.
Enjoy the merriment
It's only for a day or two,
As joy spreads far and wide
And open up new beginnings.
