Last Goodbye

By emily2u | From the Heart | 31 Jan 2021

Walking by the beach alone,
The full moon luminously shone.
Like the solitary star,
You’re so many miles afar.
Talk to you as if you’re near,
What I’m saying, can you hear?

From the very start,
You’ve a place in my heart.
But you took my love lightly,
And fought me nightly.
It pains me to think of the past,
Prayed our conflict wouldn’t last.

Tried holding on to you,
Daily bought you something new.
You persistently hurt me,
My sincere love, refused to see.
You’ve said your last goodbye,
But my love for you will never die.
