I’ve made a vow
To live for myself.
Don’t care if you disallow,
Simply no time to delve.
I’m going to be the one
To walk this lonely road.
Join me if you want,
Won’t mind when you bolt.
Hoped for your consent,
But I’ll not wait.
If only you’ll assent ----
The day is getting late.
I’ll start on my journey,
There’s a distance to go.
Laugh, though it’s not funny,
Wait ‘til I find my pot of gold.
