Flood of Despair

Flood of Despair

The pouring rain outside
The angry, rumbling sky,
With flashes of lightning
Piercing the dark night.

Totally reflects my mood
Drowning me every minute,
As the water level rises
And wash away the road.

My head is being hammered
My heart aches from pain,
My shoulder is heavy again
Carrying this burden once more.

As the rain recedes over time
And the flood subsides further,
As darkness turns into light
A brighter day looks promising.
