In the blink of an eye
A lifetime was spent,
Gone just like that
Without a final word.
It's no secret at all
This moment will come,
The declining health
And all the signs there.
The trying times are over
Caregiving duties done,
It's time to pack up now
And wrap away the grief.
A life loved, a life lost,
The time has come,
So be it, what to do
Nothing can be done
....but a final goodbye.
