This is a series of guides for crypto newbies, with a focus on investing in Australia, although a lot of the advice will be suitable for a global audience.  This is a guide from the point of view of people new to the space, without in depth knowledge of blockchain, defi etc.. and so will seem very basic to seasoned crypto investors but there seems to be little simple information available to those just starting out.

Part 2 : Freebies

When getting started it can be a bit daunting, so getting some freebies to get a feel for it can be a great first step.

Coinbase  - I have earnt around $60 in free crypto from Coinbase Earn (it was around $45 in value when I earnt it last month and has risen this much already!), you need to sign up and get verified then keep trying their earn campaigns, some didn’t work on the computer but worked on my phone, took a week or so after verification before it would allow me to do any I think.  If you choose later to buy from this site and sign up with the link above we both get $13 free BTC if you buy over $135 BTC after you register.

Brave internet browser(based on Chrome) allows you to block all ads, or allow select ads for a cut of the revenue paid in BAT (Basic Attention Token).

Publish0x  is  a blogging site that allows you to ‘tip’ authors with crypto from their advertising bank (at no cost to you) and you get a % of the tip too.  Currently pays out in ETH, AMPL & IFARM.

TipNano app gets free NANO from watching videos, opening the app every day, doing surveys etc.. there is usually a referral link but new sign ups are blocked at the moment as the NANO network is recovering from a spam attack

Natrium is a free phone based hot wallet for NANO storage.

https://monkeytalks.cc/ sends you free Banano (BAN) with a Banano address, use a free phone based wallet like Kalium.

https://blackmonkey.banano.cc/ is a game that you get free Banano for playing but only runs rarely and for approx 1 – 2 days at a time, ran last week and I got 171 free Banano worth about $4, some people got 1000s but obviously had no life or kids.

https://bananofaucet.cc/ gives 10 BAN per week but you need to have an active Reddit account, karma level and at least one post on a Banano subreddit to qualify (used to give out 30 BAN but recently reduced its payouts).
