Fear: Enemy or Friend?

Fear. An interesting concept. Terrifying, really.
It stops you. I know a lot about it.
There are situations where fear no longer controls me. Instead, it has been replaced by laughter. I can smile when I think about the times when fear dominated my life.

In fact, fear is a friend. Through it, our brain sends signals to protect our body from potential danger.

I used to fear death. My nation is being killed by a mad beast. Death is everywhere. We have to live side by side with it.

We have learned to live with terrifying sounds. Explosions. Sirens. My brain no longer reacts to sirens the way it used to. Now, I can just go about my daily routine. But the tears still come. They flow silently. And I often remember how a siren once caught me on my way home: I just kept walking and sang my country’s anthem. I cried intensely. But I gave my brain the task of focusing on the fight, not the fear.

We’ve learned to live in darkness and cold. Our homes are now somewhat adapted to the absence of comforts that people living in this technological age take for granted.
There was a time when we were scared of running out of water. That’s when I started storing water in my apartment. Now it’s a ritual: as soon as I use up a bottle of mineral water, I refill it.

I’ve personally cut up many of my clothes into strips for camouflage nets. What’s the point of all that clothing if there’s nowhere to wear it? :)

I have gas masks among the children’s toys at home. It’s horrifying. It’s a sign that something is profoundly wrong with this reality...

We conquer fear with creativity. Since the full-scale war began, my mind has been coming up with poems almost daily. They are philosophical, sometimes completely crazy. For laughter in the midst of sorrow. Many artists now, through their empathy and God-given talent, are drawing attention to our suffering through creativity.

My mind doesn’t understand why the world, filled with so many good, bright people, is allowing this to happen. It could be stopped.
A world where people can fly into space...

A world where people can communicate across thousands of kilometers...
A world where people come up with incredible technologies, like the crypto system, for example...
World, why do you allow this war?

Are we part of some kind of sacrifice?...
World, help us!

Or else the beast will destroy you too!
