Tone Vays, a known influencer in the cryptocurrency space, recently came up with the assertion that the bear market will not be at the end unless "the majority of alcohoins die". According to his opinion, the bubble of altcoins will not be repeated as it was at the end of 2017. Altcoins are, according to Vays, on the road to more or less rapid death. Is that really so? And what can we expect in the near future?
Altcoins like boxing bags
Vays is a keen BTC maximalist. For other alcoins, they do not see the use. According to his opinion, they are simple copies of the original BTC blockchain. That's why he thinks that all the altrums will begin to disappear relatively quickly, and the future market cycle will clearly show that the alcoons will disappear. Dominance of the BTC market, according to him, gradually grows to 100%.
In the community, a relatively heated debate has been struck around this claim. But it was completely irrelevant in my view, for Vays never substantiated her claim with anything other than her opinions, beliefs, and speculation. And crypt teaches us that there is better evidence than a thousand views.
In my opinion, disastrous mistakes and an influential person include many people in their community in their mistakes. If alcoons really had to "extinguish" it must have a verifiable reason. So Vays says they are just copies. However, this argument can be refuted in a moment. Ethereum brought smart contracts to the light of the world. A matter that the BTC can do but did not do it.
Various directions of development
Ethereum has gained a significant lead in the field of smart contracts and its price is also growing thanks to its use for the new economic model of ICO. Although XRP is often criticized, it can not be denied that it holds its value very well and that its faithful trust in it. And it's not a BTC copy, but a completely different system. IOTA is based on DAG technology, which is significantly different from the blockchain, and still exists and builds new partnerships in the industrial world.
And why should the altcoons end right now? After demonstrating not only functionality (decentralized exchanges on ETH or NEO chains), but also people's interest when the BTC dominated the last bull run. The answer is simple. Altcoins die and decide not so soon. Such a process will take several years and will be bordered by need. If it turns out that alcohols are really not needed then they will disappear. However, this can not be said in speculation space.
Removing altcoins is basically at the end. The weakest players will still be missing, but I would like to argue that none of the top 100 coins are likely to disappear until the end of this BTC cycle. The reason is that no one knows who will eventually be the winner of the crypto-drama. Although Bitcoin appears to be the leading racer of this digital peloton, there are competitors who have significant benefits. Both IOTA and NANO have no charges in the network and NANO has even demonstrated its decentralization, which IOTE has not yet done.
Rising dead stars
Another argument is that cryptocurrency are not firms (at least not most). Blockchain can exist long after the developers leave it. Blockchains are stable. In the next cycle (as in the previous one), we will see already dead blockchains rising to the price. Demand will gradually increase and, as in the previous cycle, this, sooner or later, will penetrate demand into the lower levels of cryptocurrency .
The dying altcoin will come once. And in this future, the king may lose his life. We are in the field of technology that is dynamically developing. It is not possible to predict what the final result will be, but you can say how the next step will probably look like. If anyone today claims to know how it will go with the cryptocurrency , then they are wrong.
