The Dating Commandments

Does dating have rules? Do we have some bylaws that apply to every kind of relationship, or is every relationship unique? Do you enter relationships with something in mind or you make up your mind when you get there? Read a news article on the commandments of dating and I want to share them with you.

The Bible says we should love God with all our heart, body and soul. Don't tell people to put you first. God should always be the idol of your lover, not you. We are also gold not to have any other gods. Give your lover your undivided attention when you are together. He/she only comes second behind God, and not your exes.

Thou shall not mention the name of the Lord in vain. Don't use swear words and other bad words too often around your partner. The Bible tells us to keep the Sabbath Day holy. Means set aside a day for your partner where you devote your time to him/her exclusively.

Honour the father and mother of your partner. You don't have to love or even like them, but you should find a way to tolerate them. Thou shalt not kill. You don't only kill through physical murder. You can kill someone with your criticisms. Don't kill your partner emotionally.

Thou shall not commit adultery. Once you've decided you are dating, don't be intimate with someone else. Don't give your self to anyone else. Thou shalt not steal. Don't steal the hearts of people when you know you aren't into them. Don't mislead people for fun.

Thou shalt not bear false witness. This means you should be trustworthy. Don't make false accusations, and you should be someone they can count on. The tenth commandment, thou shalt not covet. Once you've chosen to be with the person you are with, don't be looking around checking people out. Focus on who you've chosen to be with.

Hope this tips help you in your relationship.
