The Taj Mahal was constructed in 1632 by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan. It's an enormous mausoleum to his favorite wife, Mumtaz Mahal. The taj Mahal it's also the his tomb to the Shah Jahan. It's located in Agra, India close to Yamuna River. To finish the construction of the Taj Mahal it was necessary 22000 laborers, 1000 elephants and something about 20 years, occupying 17-hectares.

In 2008, a Bangladeshi filmmaker constructed a replica of the Taj Mahal at a cost of US $56 million dollars so that his impoverished countrymen in Bangladesh could enjoy the famous monument without traveling to India. The replication took five years to complete with modern equipment.
