🎵🎵When you walk,
through the storm,
hold your head up high
and don't be afraid of the night🎵🎵
That is the first four lines from the popular (worldwide known), Liverpool anthem "You'll never walk Alone". In the past two weeks, they have gone through (probably) their worst time all year. They have been dumed out of the FA Cup, the Champions League and their unbeaten run in the English Premier League. Its been a period that many Liverpool fans (this writer included) would certainly love to forget in a hurry.
While we have enjoyed a stellar one year performance from the Reds, it has looked like the house has started to fall apart in the past two weeks. A series of bad results is beginning to look like the Reds are finally straying to walk alone, and are losing the edge and fear factor they previously carried about. They are starting to look ordinary in the eyes of does and that why just a couple of days ago, Athletico Madrid came to Anfield their slaughter slab and left with a win. Not just any win but a win where they scored 3 goals, something that was unheard of until Watford broke their unbeaten Premier League run by 3 goals to nil.
With the string of losses, I fear that their confidence is everyday getting lower and this is in no way good for a team that is still to face Manchester City. Though Man City on their own have not been playing like a side hungry for titles (we could see that in their last game against Manchester United where they lost), but they will be a fearsome side anytime anyday and against any opponent. So Liverpool who only need two more wins to secure the title could easily get one against a disoriented Manchester City side, if only they get their acts together. While the past two weeks have been full of negative reports for the Reds, we can look at the positives they've had all season long. With a commanding performance this season, they have effectively snatched the EPL title away from Manchester City and in the process broken Arsenal's record of most wins in a single season, and Manchester City's record of most consecutive home wins in a season. While there has been the down sides, I choose to look at the positives we have accomplished this season, and I can't help but say
WE WILL NEVER WALK ALONE.
