The fun continues as we turn out attention to yet another La Liga giant Barcelona. Yesterday was about Real Madrid and what I am expecting from them next season. Like I said in my previous post, La Liga has been heavily dominated by Real Madrid and Barcelona for so many years and even though Atletico Madrid have worked their way into the mix, each season still remains the battle between Real Madrid and Barcelona.
Barcelona are standing tall in their domestic competition this season, sitting first on the table with 2 points clear at the top. As expected, they are competing against their fierce La Liga rivals Real Madrid and even though they are leading at the moment, it is far from over as Real Madrid are not relenting on their efforts to dethrone Barcelona. Nevertheless, Barca are doing pretty well this season and as things are for them, they are probably the favourites to claim the title again this season.
As we all know, they are looking to strengthen the squad for next season and are seriously searching for a worthy replacement for Suarez who doesn’t have age on his side any more. According to sources, they have identified Inter Milan’s star man Martinez as the worthy and perfect replace for Suarez, however, they will have to compete with other top clubs if they want to secure the signature of the Argentine.
With some players set to leave the club and some linked to them, a lot of talking points have surfaced concerning Barcelona and what is expected from them next season…
For me, I think Barcelona will be Barcelona. They will still be very good and will compete like they normally do each season. However, they will have to be fully prepared and be ready if they want to be at the top, especially in the La Liga next season, as the like of Real Madrid will most likely come with full force next season. Looking at how well they’ve been this season, there is no doubt that they will still be a force next season and if they are able to sign a couple of quality signings, it will surely be an exciting battle at the top.
