It was yet another exciting international champions cup friendly fixture as the new season is fast approaching. Like I have said previously, the pre-season matches are getting more competitive and exciting as teams get ready for the new challenge when the season begins.
Juventus who are showing progress in their new system faced an Inter Milan side who are also in a similar situation as them. Both teams are with their new managers are in the process of learning how their respective managers want to play. It was an interesting encounter that saw Juventus get the better of one of their major domestic rivals for next season.
Brief Post-Match Analyses
It was a fantastic atmosphere at the Nanjing Olympic Sports Center Gymnasium for the ongoing international champions cup, a lot the fans were present and excited for the game.
Juventus as usual in a Sarri team setup in a 4-3-3 formation while Inter Milan also setup in the Conte preferred 3-5-2 formation. The game began and we immediately saw two teams who are going to be fierce rivals next season. Both teams had a fair share of the first half but it was Inter Milan who took the early lead through an own goal. Juventus grew into the game more and got their equalizer before going on to come out as victors in the penalty shootout.
De Ligt put the ball into his own net just 10 minutes into the game from an Inter Milan corner.
Ronaldo cancelled the lead in the 68th minute from a freekick spot to continue his goal-scoring form in this pre-season.
The score remained 1-1 in fulltime and had to be settled through penalties.
Saves from the veteran goalkeeper Buffon were enough to help Juventus come out on top.
A great game it was between two teams who will most likely be fierce rivals when the season begins. Both teams are with new managers and still have a lot to learn and understand how the manager wants to play, so it will be really exciting to see how these two teams compete next season.
